Possible Strike/Work Stoppage

Dana Middle School teachers work hard every day to help our students reach their full potential. However, because L.A. Unified has not yet reached an agreement on a new contract, members of United Teachers Los Angeles may take strike action.

In the event of a strike, the District's goal has always been to keep schools open so that our students do not miss the opportunity to learn. Therefore, the District is proactively assigning Central Office staff to schools and has taken steps to procure services from outside vendors to ensure that student operations remain seamless on our campus should a strike occur.

In addition, L.A. Unified has created a resource guide for families, which is posted at lausd.net, to help parents and students prepare for a possible work stoppage.

LA Unified will continue working to find solutions that take into account our economic realities, as well as out students' needs.
